If you have a Windows 10 computer, do not install the latest Windows 10 October 2018 update just yet. Apparently, the update has some serious issues. The Verge reports that “Threads on Reddit, Microsoft’s own support site, and other forums show that some Windows 10 users are upgrading to the October 2018 Update and having their documents, photos, or even entire user profiles wiped out.” This update is not being pushed out by Microsoft yet (although it is scheduled to be pushed out Tuesday) so you would have to use Windows Update and check for updates to get it. Hold off on doing that until Microsoft figures out what is going and gets it fixed. If you know someone running Windows 10 on their computer, let them know of this issue. https://www.theverge.com/…/microsoft-windows-10-october-201…
Now that they know of the issues, maybe they will delay pushing it out, but you may want to set your Windows 10 computer to delay updates until this is fixed. There are instructions for delaying updates on this website: https://www.cnet.com/…/how-to-delay-windows-10-october-201…/
